Introduction
By default, users who work in Week View may find that Outlook opens the calendar at the beginning of the week rather than displaying the current day. This can make it difficult to quickly review today's schedule alongside upcoming appointments.
To ensure that Today is always displayed first when opening the Outlook Calendar, configure the calendar using the Day View and specify the number of days to display.
Follow the steps below to configure the view:
1. Open the Outlook Calendar
- Launch Microsoft Outlook.
- Navigate to the Calendar module.
2. Configure the Number of Days to Display
Outlook allows you to display multiple days while remaining in Day View. This approach ensures that the calendar always starts with Today as the first visible day.
Use the following keyboard shortcuts to choose the number of days displayed:
- Alt + 1 = Display 1 day
- Alt + 2 = Display 2 days
- Alt + 3 = Display 3 days
- Continue up to Alt + 9 = Display 9 days
- Alt + 0 = Display 10 days
Please note: Use the number keys located at the top of the keyboard. The numeric keypad (NumPad) keys will not work for this function.
3. Create a Week-Style View Starting with Today
- Press Alt + 7 to display 7 days.
- The calendar will display a week-like view while keeping Today as the first visible day.
4. Save the View
- Leave the Calendar folder or restart Outlook.
- Outlook will retain the selected view configuration.
- When you return to the Calendar, the view will continue to start with Today, followed by the upcoming days.
Result
After completing these steps, Outlook will open the Calendar with Today displayed first, allowing you to easily review current and upcoming appointments without navigating back to the current date.
